Baptist

First Baptist Church Guelph

First Baptist sums up its commitments as leading with grace, championing authenticity and celebrating diversity. It calls itself fully inclusive, so that whatever your age, race, gender, socioeconomic status or sexual orientation you can participate fully in the life of the church family, and it explicitly welcomes, affirms, protects and supports people of all 2SLGBTQ+ identities.

First Baptist describes itself as a historic church in downtown Guelph with a long history in the community, rooted but flexible, and seeking to live out the message of Christ today. Alongside Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m. it runs small groups, children’s and youth programs, a Faith and Justice Collective and a Dinner and a Doc series, and it rents its building to community users.

What to expect

Dress comfortably; some people come in their Sunday best and others very casually. Parking is beside and behind the church, the main entrance off Woolwich Street is accessible with an elevator just inside the front doors, and the Route 99 Mainline bus passes the building in both directions.
