St. George's Anglican Church
St. George's mission is to 'Make Jesus known'. It aims to be a place of prayer and seeking after God, of faith where Christ and the Gospel are proclaimed, of outreach and engagement with contemporary issues, and of love where all find a warm welcome, as a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Niagara in the Anglican Church of Canada.
St. George’s was founded in 1832 in St. George’s Square in downtown Guelph. After a fire it moved to its present site on the banks of the Speed River, where the current church was built in 1873. The parish belongs to the Anglican Diocese of Niagara and offers a Book of Common Prayer service early on Sunday, a choral Book of Alternative Services eucharist at mid-morning, and a Wednesday eucharist in the Kirk Chapel.
What to expect
The parish describes thoughtful, reverent worship rooted in the Anglican tradition with music and preaching. The 10:30 a.m. service is choral and has a Sunday School for children and youth, and both Sunday services are streamed online.
