Dublin Street United Church
Dublin Street describes itself as a safe and Affirming community that intentionally includes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, ages, ethnic backgrounds, racialized identities, abilities and economic circumstances in every part of the church's life and work. Its mission is to live God's love, enact it as a congregation, share it in the community and nurture it in the world.
Dublin Street’s Gothic Revival church was built in 1874 when the First Wesleyan Methodist Church on Norfolk Street became overcrowded, and it has recently marked its 150th anniversary; the building is noted for its pipe organ, artwork and stained-glass windows. The congregation is part of Guelph United Ministries and an Affirming Ministry of the United Church of Canada, with handbell and chancel choirs, children’s and youth activities, campus ministry and outreach. The building has controlled access (ring the bell at the parking-lot door or call ahead), and Guelph Transit lines 3 and 11 stop outside on Suffolk Street West.
