Guelph Bible Chapel
Guelph Bible Chapel holds that the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, entirely trustworthy and without error; that God is Trinity; that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, who died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice; that salvation is through the death and resurrection of Christ; and that the Lord Jesus will personally return. Its mission is to know and enjoy God through the transforming power of Jesus Christ his Son.
Guelph Bible Chapel traces its roots to a community of Christians gathering in the name of the Lord Jesus in Guelph in the late 1800s; it originated as a Plymouth Brethren assembly, opened a permanent building in 1919 and built its present chapel on Silvercreek Parkway South in 1960. Elders provide spiritual oversight, and the church names five core values: stand on Scripture, pursue God’s presence, love others lavishly, disciple with diligence and evangelize with expectation. The office is open Monday to Thursday mornings.
What to expect
There is no dress code. Gathered worship is typically under 90 minutes, with gospel-centred preaching, prayer, the reading of God's Word and a blend of contemporary songs and traditional hymns. Supervised nursery care is available up to age four, children in JK to grade 6 begin in the service and then go to Kids' Church upstairs, the Lord's Supper is observed regularly, and coffee, tea, juice and snacks follow the service.
