Lakeside Church
Lakeside exists to help people discover and fully follow Jesus, together. It affirms the historic Nicene Creed while leaving room for questions and diversity of thought on secondary issues, says God's love is for everyone regardless of age, background, race, gender identity, sexuality or story, and is not connected to any one denomination.
Lakeside was founded in 1989 by 40 families who wanted a church that would be a place of spiritual growth and discovery for people who do not yet believe as well as those who do. It meets on Conservation Road north of the city and runs Alpha, Celebrate Recovery, DivorceCare, Griefwalk, groups and gatherings, Lakeside Kids and Lakeside Youth, and it describes itself as a radically inclusive place with a deep faith and wide embrace.
What to expect
The service runs from about 10:00 to 11:15 a.m., with a few songs, announcements, a short coffee break and a message from one of the pastors. The atmosphere is casual, with jeans and shorts alongside dressier clothes. Everyone begins together for musical worship before children from birth to grade 5 go to Lakeside Kids and students in grades 6 to 12 to the Youth Zone; families check in at the Family Ministries desk, and accessible parking is on the paved section of the lot.
