St. George Greek Orthodox Church

A Orthodox congregation in Guelph, part of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Canada.

Guelph’s Greek Orthodox community dates from the mid-1950s, when residents of Greek descent began organizing to build a church; the Hellenic Canadian Community of Guelph, dedicated to building St. George Orthodox Church, was created in 1982. In 2003 the community bought the plaza at 50 Dovercliffe Road and renovated it into a church and banquet hall. The parish falls under the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Canada and Metropolitan Sotirios, publishes a liturgical calendar in English and Greek, and runs a Greek language school.
